July 2: discuss topic ideas, presentation of idea(s) at end of class, email me paragraph with your idea(s) by end of class (one email per group)

July 3: library database workshop (blue room, Carpenter Hall)

July 5: work on bibliography and magazine analysis

Week Two

July 8: work on bibliography and magazine analysis

July 9: work on query; discuss past articles; introduce op-ed; assign editorial duties for pitch presentations

July 10: work on query & pitch presentations

July 11: A few words on presenting; discuss Gladwell & Suroweiki

Week Three

July 17: pitch presentations

Week Five

July 29: ethics case studies; introduce ethics presentation

  • due: article draft at beginning of class period (uploaded to wiki under posts and give me one paper copy)

July 30: work on article revision/ethics presentations

July 31: discuss article drafts

  • Read other four articles for discussion

August 1: work on article revision/ethics presentations

  • due: op-ed final (paper and email)
Week Six

August 5: presentations

  • due: final version of article (due by email and paper)
